Why I Love Disney's Animal Kingdom

taylorflowers5

Ok, I am going to say it...Animal Kingdom is the most underrated park at Disney. I hear people actually skip this park - which is CRAZY!! Maybe they are confused that it is a zoo and not a theme park? Well guess what, IT'S BOTH!! Let me tell you why me and my family love Disney's Animal Kingdom.

1) Pandora, World of Avatar: There is nothing like walking into Pandora and seeing the floating mountains in the sky. And at night?! It literally GLOWS - the land is lit up with a bioluminescence light show. Pandora is also home to two incredible rides - Na'vi River Journey (a dark boat ride showcasing native plants and animals) and Flight of Passage (a 3D flying simulator that allows you to soar over Pandora).

2) Nomad Lounge: Located next to Tiffins restaurant, Nomad Lounge offers indoor and outdoor seating. I personally love sitting outdoors so I can watch the character cavalcades float by. Nomad Lounge offers specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as delicious small plates - get the churros, they do not disappoint.

3) Festival of the Lion King: This show is at the Harambe Theater in the Africa section of the park. This is the best live show at Disney World - there is singing, dancing, acrobatics, and characters from the classic Disney movie. It is a must see for all ages.

4) Mr. Kamal's Fries: Hot, fresh, deliciously seasoned, and the best fries I've ever had. They come with 3 dipping sauces - saffron aioli, honey kimchi ketchup, and curried honey mustard. This snack spot is on the path from Asia to Africa near the Feathered Friends in Flight show.

5) Kilimanjaro Safaris: One of my favorite rides in all of Disney World!! I say ride loosely because really, it is an experience, and you will never have the same experience twice. Kilimanjaro Safaris is the largest attraction at Walt Disney World - so large in fact that the entire Magic Kingdom could fit inside the attraction. Every safari is different, and guests may see hippos, giraffes, elephants, lions, and more during this ride - we actually had a rhino walk right next to our vehicle once! Have your camera ready and hang on because it can get a little bumpy!

Next time you visit Walt Disney World DO NOT MISS THIS PARK!! If you want more information about Walt Disney World, resorts, or parks, reach out to me at taylor.flowers@marvelousmousetravels.com
